Short Description
Inventor of the first multi‑tissue DNA‑methylation ‘aging clock’.
Description

Dr. Steve Horvath, formerly at UCLA and now CSO of Altos Labs’ Clock Foundation, published the seminal 2013 paper describing an epigenetic clock that predicts biological age across human tissues within ±3.6 years. The Horvath clock sparked an entirely new biomarker field and is widely used in academia, consumer test kits, and clinical trials to gauge rejuvenation interventions. Horvath has since developed specialized clocks for telomere length, inflammation, and dog aging, holding multiple patents and licensing deals.
